You are invited to participate in the annual CBFVA/BTSR luncheon during the BGAV on Tuesday, November 13, at 12:30 p.m. at Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Glen Allen (just two miles from Mt. Vernon Baptist Church). The cost is $20.

The theme for the luncheon program is racial justice, and we are delighted to welcome Hannah McMahon as ourkeynote speaker. She serves as Executive Director of New Baptist Covenant whose goal is to build bridges between races and assist congregations with covenants of action.

Having grown up as the child of a Baptist minister, Hannah felt the call to ministry at an early age. That call led her to pursue a vocation in ministry. McMahan graduated from Wake Forest in 2006 with a BA in religion, and later from Wake Forest University Divinity School in 2009 with a Masters in Divinity. She also earned a Masters in History in 2012 from the University of Mississippi, where she studied racial-religious violence in the Jim Crow South, specifically how Christian theology both supported and undermined the lynching culture of the South.
