First Baptist Church Weaverville, NC

Position: Director of Church and Community Ministries (FT)

Seeks someone to develop and coordinate ministry activities. Candidates should feel called to support and minister to all age groups, with children and youth a priority. A key job responsibility will be enlisting, instructing, and directing volunteers. The position will plan regular mission projects to put faith into practice, fun activities to strengthen fellowship, and community partnerships to nurture relationship with local schools and organizations. Applicants should work well with teams of volunteers and staff, and be ready to help a loving congregation be active, both in the church and its community.
Weaverville is about 15 minutes north of Asheville, and is a lovely small town in the vibrant Western North Carolina mountains. First Baptist has an average weekly attendance of 110 and partners with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Full-time salary range is $37,000–45,000. A bachelor’s degree is required; preference will be given to candidates with seminary training, knowledge in social work, or nonprofit experience.

Position: Minister for Family Ministry and Social Media (FT)

The Minister for Family Ministry and Media has the task of casting and implementing a vision for comprehensive family discipleship. The focus is on all types of families, with an emphasis on ages birth – young adults. Efforts will integrate educational, mission, social and recreational activities. Position: Family Minister (FT)

Qualifications:
Education: An undergraduate degree from a recognized college, university, or denominational program is preferred.

Experience: Five or more years of experience with some area of family ministry (layperson or vocational), with at least three years in a leadership role.

Skills and Abilities:
Passion and vision to develop a ministry to children, youth and their families that cultivates personal relationships with Jesus, equips for ministry service, and empowers them to fulfill their callings to service.
Lifelong learner with a willingness and an ability to grow personally.
A solid understanding of the Bible; demonstrated ability to articulate Biblical principles and basic theology in a manner appropriate to the audience (e.g. young child vs. youth vs adult); ability to present the gospel clearly and lead others to salvation.
Possesses organizational skills, the ability to lead a team of volunteers and effectively delegate.

Responsibilities:
Establishes vision and direction of Family Life Ministry
Work with Senior Pastor and Effort Leadership to establish a consistent and intentional philosophy of ministry to children, youth, college students, and families.
Envision and direct a ministry capable of changing and adapting to meet the needs of the dynamic EBC family.
Works with lay leaders to guide, promote and oversee an integrated ministry to Effort families.
Collaborate with other ministry areas to generate and publicize opportunities for families to participate in service and grow as disciples.

Position: Minister of Students (PT)

The Minister of Students is somebody who will develop godly relationships with our youth to point them to the love of God and is responsible for providing direction and leadership to promote the youth ministry and educational programming at Derbyshire Baptist Church.  To that end, this person will create spiritually based programming to inspire the youth to explore their relationship with Jesus and challenge them to grow a healthy and maturing relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Minister of Students is accountable to the Pastor and is an equal part of the Derbyshire Ministry Team.

Personal Qualifications:
  1. Have a special love for working with youth in Middle School and High School years, as well as young adults.
  2. Possess a warm personality and is approachable.
  3. Skilled in leadership, counseling, and ministry.
  4. Previous experience as outlined above in working with youth and/or children.

 

Education:
  1. BA in fine arts, humanities, psychology, counseling, or related field.
  2. Advanced seminary degree preferred.  Masters or higher degree preferred.
  3. Secondary or elementary education degrees also highly desirable.

Main Street Baptist Church, Emporia Virginia

Position: Youth Minister (PT)

Main Street Baptist Church is currently searching for a part-time (20 hours weekly) Youth Minister to lead a growing youth ministry (ages 12-18). This position provides leadership and oversight in all aspects of planning, promoting, and implementing a ministry that guides youth in their spiritual growth and encourages their fellowship within the church. We are praying for an individual who is called to ministry, affiliated with CBF and BGAV, and currently studying at an accredited University or Seminary. Compensation for this position is $20,000 to $25,000 annual.

Hunton Baptist Church, Glen Allen Virginia

Position:Children’s Ministry Director (PT)

Job Summary: Hunton Baptist Church is seeking an energetic Children’s Ministry Director who will be responsible for developing and implementing ministries of discipleship, mission, fellowship and worship for children. We are a church that is open to new ideas, so this position is great for someone who wants to think creatively about ministry!

Primary Job Accountabilities

  1. Oversee the planning and coordinating of all children’s Sunday school, children’s worship, and Sunday evening programs (including selecting curriculum).
  2. Work with the Associate Pastor and Sunday School Director to recruit and train volunteers (as needed) in the children’s ministry (includes Sunday school teachers, children’s worship leaders, Sunday evening leaders, and chaperones for trips).
  3. Plan, implement, and oversee other periodic children’s events such as summer Passport trip, mission endeavors, fundraisers, Vacation Bible School, summer day camp, etc.
  4. Work with the Associate Pastor in developing new ministry initiatives for the children.
  5. Limited administrative duties (newsletter article, maintain budget and manage expenses, maintain social media accounts, etc.)

Sycamore Baptist Church,  Virginia

Position:Pastor (FT)

Sycamore Baptist Church, a 140 year-old congregation located three miles south of the City of Franklin, VA, is seeking a full-time pastor gifted in pastoral care, evangelism and outreach, and the ability to cast a vision for the future and guide the church to that end. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and a seminary master’s degree. A parsonage is available if needed. Salary is commensurate with experience, responsibilities, and candidate needs.Sycamore is affiliated with the Blackwater Baptist Association, BGAV, and CBF. Sycamore is very active in community missions promoted by their Women on Mission and the Baptist Men’s organization. Sycamore is currently completing an Intentional Interim Ministry process. Central Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia

PositionPastor of Music and Adult Ministries (FT)

This individual will lead and coordinate the music and adult ministries of the church. As such, the individual will be responsible for the education and Christian formation of adults. The individual will direct all aspects of the music ministry, including the weekly worship services, special occasions, and any special programs that involve music. A Master of Divinity (with experience in music) or advanced degree in music education or choral music, or equivalent experience, is preferred. Central is affiliated with the BGAV, CBFVA, CBF, and has a historic affiliation with the SBC.

Churches need strong recommendations for staff openings. CBFVA partners with Cooperative Baptist Fellowship’s LeaderConnect (http://www.cbf.net/leaderconnect/) to help place vocational ministers (senior pastors, associate pastors, youth pastors, children’s pastors, and other staff ministers) in Virginia churches. Search committees are encouraged to contact CBF to communicate staff needs and to solicit resumes of potential candidates.
