A New Ministry of Welcome in Virginia
Through the collaborative efforts of River City Faith Network, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Virginia (CBFVA), Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV), and community partners, a donor’s generous gift is helping bring a new ministry of Christian hospitality to Richmond.
Welcome House Richmond will be the first Welcome House in Virginia. It will serve as short-term, safe reception homes for newly arrived, federally vetted refugee families and displaced families while they seek long-term, permanent affordable housing.
As the ministry develops, local churches, volunteers, and community partners will have opportunities to offer friendship, furnishings, household goods, food, English language learning opportunities, job training, and other essential support. Together, we can help families begin their next chapter with greater stability, connection, and hope.

Welcome House
Welcome Houses provide safe, temporary housing and Christian hospitality for people navigating times of transition or uncertainty. These ministries bring churches, volunteers, and community partners together to help individuals and families find stability and move toward permanent housing.
Support may include furnishings, household goods, food, friendship, English language learning opportunities, job training, and connections to other community resources. Each Welcome House reflects a shared commitment to welcoming neighbors with dignity, compassion, and practical care.

A generous donor has pledged $150,000 toward establishing Welcome House Richmond. We are seeking an additional $300,000 from churches and individuals to help secure a home, provide staffing, and establish a sustainable ministry of hospitality.
Every gift helps build a place where families can find temporary shelter, experience Christian hospitality, and take steps toward permanent housing.
