In late January 2023, CBF Virginia’s Coordinating Council met in Charlottesville for an overnight retreat. As we met, prayed, and visioned together, one message came through loud and clear: CBFVA wants to connect and collaborate with your congregation.
CBF Virginia believes in congregations. We believe that God is at work in the local church, and this gives each beloved community a unique vision for its physical location. CBFVA’s goal is to walk side-by-side with congregations, using our gifts, resources, partnerships, and networks to help amplify each congregation as they fulfill their God-given mission.
Furthermore, we want you to know that we are here for your congregation on its best day and on days that are hard. We do not run away from hard conversations. We stand with you by connecting and resourcing you and your church with experts, practitioners, or other congregations who understand the journey you are taking.
CBF Virginia’s Coordinating Council meeting in late January comes on the heels of seven members of CBF Global speaking in eight churches around Virginia. Our plan is to activate the entire CBF network in new ways to help meet the changing needs of changing churches in a changing world.
Your voice is essential, and we want to connect with you. By way of CBF Global or CBF Virginia’s travel or through members of the coordinating council, we want to hear from you. We’ll have several opportunities coming soon, and you should be hearing from someone connected with CBFVA in the coming months. Our goal is to connect and partner with you, but partnership is a two-way street. If you are interested in going deeper with CBFVA, feel free to contact Mark Snipes directly at msnipes@cbfva.org. You do not have to do this work alone….we are in this together.
