Silence Retreat

This year, we are excited to offer three retreat options—all happening in one shared space!
Participants may choose the retreat style that best fits their needs while still enjoying communal meal times and optional evening gatherings.

March 9-12, 2026
Shalom House Retreat Center, Montpelier, VA

Silence Retreat
The primary purpose of a silent retreat is to deeply engage the presence of the Holy Spirit. It is an intentional time set aside to listen for God’s still small voice. This is achieved in many ways. Meditation guides are provided to assist you on your journey. Participants experience God’s presence in nature, in a setting conducive to provide you space to spend alone in communion with the Lord. An optional speaking time is offered each evening as we gather to reflect on the meditation materials and share whatever else God invites us to discuss.

Peer Learning Groups Retreat
Bring your Peer Learning Group and shape the rhythm of your retreat to meet your group’s needs.
PLGs may choose how to structure their time and will have the option to join the Silence Retreat’s evening gatherings. All participants will share meal times together, with space provided for those who wish to maintain silence.

Sermon Planning Retreat
Looking for dedicated time to plan sermons in community? This retreat is designed for you.
Peptalk Ministries will provide starter resources, and participants are encouraged to bring ideas and materials to collaborate and inspire one another. Sermon Planning participants also have the option to join the Silence Retreat evening gatherings. Meals will be shared among all groups, with room for continued silence for those who desire it.
