Position Summary & Principal Functions:
Bon Air Baptist Weekday School is seeking a caring, organized, and Christ-centered Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate, Bible-based learning environment for young children. The Lead Teacher plans and implements curriculum aligned with program goals, oversees daily classroom operations, and supports the academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth of each child. This role includes maintaining consistent classroom routines, ensuring student safety and well being, modeling Christian values, and building positive relationships with students, families, and staff while collaborating with Assistant Teachers and school leadership.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Classroom & Instructional Leadership

Parent & Family Communication

Compensation & Employment Terms
• Paid rate and calculations are outlined in the General Contract for the 2026–2027 school

• Receive 20 equal bi-monthly paychecks (September–June)

Job Title: Bon Air Weekday School Operations Director 2026-2027
Averaging 30-35 hours/week (possible benefits available)
Seeking a child-loving, caring, responsible person who works well with others and communicates clearly. Will be working directly with the Managing Director who is also the Minister to Children and Families for Bon Air Baptist Church. The Operations Director will administer, supervise and implement the planning for and the day-to-day operations of the Bon Air Weekday School.

Principal Functions: To administer, supervise and implement the planning for and the operations of the Bon Air Weekday School program
Salary Range: $20-$25 per hour
Administration Responsibilities:
• Maintain a Bible-based developmentally appropriate program
• Coordinate the use of shared space and equipment with all other groups within the church

• Work with The Minister to Children and Families to meet all requirements to maintain Religious Exemption licensing status with the state of Virginia

Parents and Students Interactions:

• Keep MAT training (specialized medical training required by Social Services), CPR and first aid training current
Teacher Interactions:
• Supervise and support the daily activities of all Weekday School teachers
• Work with the Minister of Children and Families to interview and hire new teachers as needed
• Coordinate regular training sessions to ensure all teachers are up to date with the latest educational practices and safety protocols
• Encourage professional development by providing opportunities for teachers to attend workshops, seminars, and conferences relevant to early childhood education
• Facilitate open communication between teachers and the Minister to Children and Families to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment
• Ensure all necessary documentation and background verification are completed
• Prepare and distribute curriculum, calendar and handbook information and provide timely updates as needed to this information
• Conduct monthly teacher planning meetings
• Work with the Minister to Children and Families to conduct yearly reviews for all teachers, covering performance, education and salary reviews and annual employment agreements
• Address all personnel issues promptly and confidentially, documenting all
discussions and outcomes
• Work with the Minister to Children and Families to maintain current personnel files to include resume, application, background check verifications, continuing education documentation, payroll tax documentation and annual physical forms
Financial Responsibilities:
• Submit time sheets to Minister to Children and Families in a timely manner
• Purchase and maintain all supplies and resources for the Weekday School
• Assist the Minister to Children and Families in maintaining financial records for purchases, expenditures and incoming tuition
• Assist the Minister to Children and Families in maintaining a current account of each student’s tuition account; post all billings and payments in a timely manner; send late notices and provide tax documentation to parents when appropriate
Qualifications / Education / Experience / Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, including leadership roles
• Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents and the wider church
community
• Exhibit ethical behavior and good moral character in line with moral teachings and the statement of faith outlined in the Bon Air Baptist Church governing documents

General Description
The Pastor is responsible for leading the church to function as a New Testament Church. The Pastor will lead the congregation, the organizations, and the Church staff to perform their tasks. As such, he works with the Deacons and Church staff to (a) lead the Church in the achievement of its mission (b) proclaim the gospel to believers and unbelievers and (c) care for the Church’s members and other persons in the community. Pastor services are built upon basic elements of litanies, prayers, hymns, scripture lessons, offerings, sermons for our children, sanctuary choir anthems and sermons by the Pastor.
Pastoral Requirements and Responsibilities:
• Lead the Church in an effective evangelism program and in a caring ministry for those in the Church and in the community.
• Lead an effective program of visiting sick, needs of the Church and shut-in members and prospects.
• Conduct counseling sessions, as needed.
• Assist families in time of deaths and conduct funerals when asked.
• Perform Wedding ceremonies.
• Lead the Church in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating all Church programs and ministries in conjunction with Deacons, Trustee Boards and Church Council. • Represent the Church in civic matters.
• Act as moderator of the Church business meeting (unless another leader is elected moderator, i.e., Deacon, and / or elected moderator)
• Work with Deacons, Board of Trustees, Church officers, and committees/auxiliaries as they perform their assigned responsibilities.
• Serve as administrator of the paid Church staff; supervising the work of the ministry staff, both volunteer and paid ministers and directors.
• Conduct monthly Church Council meetings and participate in Deacon’s meetings.
• Prepare and conduct class for new believers and members, as needed.
• Provide appropriate reports to Deacon chair monthly on all expenses for gas reimbursements and other expenses to be forwarded to Church financial officer upon approval.
• Provide vacation time one month in advance to Deacon chair.
• Assist with fundraising events.
• Assist moderator to plan and coordinate quarterly business meetings.
• When decisions are approved by the Church council for major changes present to church for approval during business meetings.
Critical qualifications:
Must be licensed and ordained. (If not ordained, must be ordained within 6 months of hire date.)
Education, a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in the ministry or a combination of education and experience.

Position Overview:
The Minister of Faith Development (MFD) serves the congregation as a full-time member of the pastoral staff, with a particular focus on intergenerational ministry to our youth, children, and families. Position:Associate Minister for Education with Emphasis on Children & Families (FT)
Summary: University Baptist Church (UBC) is a welcoming and affirming family of faith that ministers to residents of the Greater Charlottesville-Albemarle Community and the University of Virginia Community. The Associate Minister for Education will become UBC’s third full-time minister and will be responsible for Christian Education at UBC, with emphasis on children and families. Responsibilities:
● Plan and organize the Christian Education program at UBC, which includes children, youth, and adult education.
● Keep up to date with current trends in Christian education and spiritual formation.
● Engage and cultivate relationships with the congregation, especially children, youth, and their families.
● Communicate frequently with children, youth, and their families, and provide regular updates to the congregation.
● Design and implement programs and activities for children, including opportunities for them to share their gifts in corporate worship.
● Coordinate the work of the youth ministry to empower youth in their spiritual journey.
● Support existing and grow new adult education programs, such as Sunday morning Bible Study, small groups, book studies and speaker series.
● Plan and coordinate special events, including mission activities, outings, and camps.
● Cultivate and equip volunteers to work with the educational ministries.
● Present regular updates regarding the education, children’s and youth ministries to church committees and conferences.
● Prepare annual budgets for assigned areas of responsibility.
● Work with the other ministers and the congregation in a collaborative environment.
● With the ministerial team, provide pastoral care and worship leadership.
Qualifications:
● Relevant graduate education such as a seminary degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
● A feeling of God’s call to minister at UBC, a welcoming and affirming church.
● An innovative, creative spirit and enthusiasm for spiritual education and equipping children and youth.
● Willingness to relocate to the greater Charlottesville area.
