Session 1
11:45 am - 12:30 am
Bold Conversations
Revs. Melissa Fallen and Ann Carter
Room: Sanctuary
In a polarized world where the mere mention of a hot topic can send a congregation spiraling into divided camps, this session offers some practical lessons from one congregation of ways to foster healthy, productive, bold conversations in theologically and politically diverse churches. How can these hard conversations manifest the kingdom of heaven here on earth?
Revs. Melissa Fallen and Ann Carter are part of the Pastoral Team at Glen Allen Baptist Church.
A Creative Pause
Amy Hall, Shalom Creatives
Room: 803
Pastoral and ministry leadership asks a lot of us and often leaves little time to pause and reflect on how we are showing up. This hands-on art reflection offers space to slow down, pay attention, and reflect on what is happening in our lives and leadership. No artistic experience is necessary, only curiosity and a willingness to notice.
Rev. Amy Hall is the founder of Shalom Creatives, a healing arts organization, Associate Pastor of Community Missions at Madison Heights Baptist Church, and Moderator of Virginia Baptist Women in Ministry. She focuses on using creativity and relationships to build bridges between churches and communities.
